Not speed for its own sake. The intelligent application of the right amount of effort to the right things — which requires knowing which things are right, and which are simply urgent.

"Efficiency is not about doing more. It is about being honest about what actually needs doing — and not spending yourself on the rest." CoachingAndLife 52 Ways Program
Working through a value honestly, seeing where it is genuinely missing and mapping what to do about it, is hard to do entirely alone. That is part of why CoachingAndLife exists. We are built on the idea that people move further together than they do in isolation, with sharper thinking, honest reflection, and real support close by when it is needed. You do not have to work this one out by yourself.
Efficiency is the most practical value in the program — and the one most easily confused with busyness. A busy person is not necessarily an efficient one. The person who works twelve hours and produces four hours of meaningful output is not efficient. They are active. The distinction matters enormously, both for what you produce and for how much of yourself you have left at the end of the day.
Real Efficiency starts with honest prioritisation. Not every task deserves the same quality of attention. The person who applies maximum effort to everything produces mediocre results across the board and arrives at the end of the week exhausted and unclear about what actually mattered. The person who applies maximum effort to the things that actually matter, and efficient, sufficient effort to everything else, produces more with less.
Use this session when you are always busy and never done. When important things keep getting displaced by urgent ones. When you want to understand the difference between Efficiency as speed and Efficiency as the intelligent use of limited time and energy.

They have learned, through experience or painful experiment, that multitasking is not a feature. It is a myth. They give one task their full attention, complete it, and move to the next. That linear focus produces better work in less time than the fragmented attention of someone managing five things at once.
They look at their calendar and ask: what is actually producing anything? Not what feels productive, not what keeps them busy, not what other people expect — what is actually moving anything forward? Then they stop doing the rest, without guilt and without fanfare.
They are productive by any external measure. Their days are full, their output is visible, their availability is near-total. But they have a persistent feeling of falling behind — because the things they are doing are not the things that would actually change anything. Busyness as Efficiency is the most convincing trap in any working life.
To someone who equates effort with commitment, a person who finishes their work in reasonable time, who does not stay late, who appears to move through their tasks without strain, can look like they are not trying hard enough. But the person who completes what matters well and stops is not less committed — they are more honest about what work actually requires.
To someone who values efficiency, a person who is always in the office, always responding, always available, who makes their exhaustion visible, can seem more devoted. But sustained overwork is not a sign of commitment — it is often a sign of poor prioritisation, unclear boundaries, or the inability to say what something actually costs.
It is the honest application of the right resources to the right problems. It requires knowing which problems are the right ones — which most people skip. It requires the discipline to stop doing things that do not move anything forward, even when those things feel productive.
Think about the last time this value was fully present in your life. What did it feel like and what did it make possible? Now think about where it is absent today. Write down the difference between those two states as specifically as you can.
When does this value show up in you naturally and without effort? When do you suppress it because it feels unsafe or too much? Notice the gap between those two answers. That gap is where this week’s work lives.
If this value were fully alive in you, what would change at work? What would change at home? What decision that you have been avoiding would suddenly become clear? Be specific. Generalities do not move anything.
This value is not an end in itself. It is a door. When you live it fully, what does it open? What relationships become easier? What version of yourself shows up that is not yet fully present?
Do not soften this. Where in your life right now is the absence of this value creating friction, distance, or stagnation? Name it precisely. The clearer you are about the cost, the more motivated you will be to do the actual work this week.
Watch for this: your calendar is full and you cannot say what any of it actually moved forward. Real Efficiency is stopping to ask what is producing a result before adding one more thing to the list.
This is a guided conversation, not a quiz. The AI will open warmly, ask you real questions, and follow your answers. There are no right responses. Speak from where you actually are today, not from who you think you should be. The conversation will take 10 to 20 minutes and it will go at your pace.
